Core to our Mission we believe that nonprofits can accomplish more together than they can separately. Nonprofits face the challenge of meeting increasing community needs with decreasing resources, all while society continues to place higher expectations on them. Fortunately, the Greater Ottawa County Area has long been a hub for collaborative efforts and we hope to build on this spirit. The Lakeshore Nonprofit Alliance is committed to bringing together nonprofits along with those from government, business, and the faith community to meet the needs of our present time.
LNA supports local collaboration in three primary ways. We identify where collaboration might benefit the community or respond to collaborative opportunities identified by members. We coordinate the collaborative effort (planning meetings, convening the right parties, and keeping momentum), which helps provide capacity to participating organizations. And finally, we facilitate from a neutral standpoint and in doing so help manage the self-interest that inevitably is represented.
