CRMs and Donor Personas @ Virtual
Sep 9 @ 9:00 am – 10:00 am

Symposia and the Lakeshore Nonprofit Association are partnering to host an educational workshop on CRMs and donor personas. Marketing Strategist Timothy Haines will present how to take your organization’s CRM to the next level by incorporating automated & segmented campaigns, donation tracking, and other integrations.

Tim will also join Rachel Mills – a nonprofit consultant – in leading a workshop on donor personas and how they are effective for marketing. Attracting donors is not a one size fits all approach; Rachel will dive into common themes, interests, and motivations of donors. Attendees will also have an opportunity to begin thinking through and creating donor personas for their organizations.

Sep 9 @ 4:30 pm – 7:30 pm

The How to be an Effective Board Member Workshop (similar to the previously offered Nonprofit Board Certification) offers guidance on the primary responsibilities for those currently serving on or planning to serve on nonprofit boards. Designed as an engaging experience, participants, regardless of experience, will become more knowledgeable about how the best boards operate, what is to be expected of board members, and how to become more strategic organizational leaders. Thanks to the generous support of the Community Foundation of the Holland/Zeeland Area and the Grand Haven Area Community Foundation, we are able to offer this nonprofit board certification workshop presented by Patrick Cisler with the Lakeshore Nonprofit Alliance for only $5 per person. Please note that due to the popularity of this workshop, we must limit registration to three representatives per organization.

How to Use Behavioral Testing to Improve Teamwork and Communication – A Panel Discussion @ Virtual
Sep 18 @ 12:00 pm – 1:30 pm

Event Description: Personality and behavioral testing is a great way to learn how to best communicate with your staff and team members. In this panel discussion, you’ll hear from 5 different practitioners about the value and benefits to your organization of using personality and behavioral tests including Kolbe, DISC, StrengthsFinders, MBS, and Enneagram. The insight into these different tests should help you determine which ones may be the best options for your organization. No testing will actually be conducted – this is an informational session.

Our panel will include the following representatives:

DiSC – Patrick CislerDiSC is a behavior assessment tool based on the DISC theory of psychologist William Moulton Marston, which centers on four different personality traits which are currently Dominance (D), Influence (I), Steadiness (S), and Conscientiousness (C).

Enneagram – Jay HidalgoThe Enneagram is a model of the human psyche which is principally understood and taught as a typology of nine interconnected personality types.

Kolbe – Monica GravenhofKolbe measures your instinctive way of doing things and the result is called your MO (method of operation). It is the only validated assessment that measures a person’s conative strengths. Gain greater understanding of your own human nature and begin the process of maximizing your potential.

MBS – Barbara Lee VanHorssen Management By Strengths (MBS) is a program designed to help companies increase productivity, improve customer satisfaction and employee morale.

StrengthsFinder – Abbey JohnsonStrengthsFinder is an assessment that helps individuals identify, understand and maximize their strengths. By exploring the ways in which you naturally think, feel and behave, StrengthsFinder can identify and build on the areas where you have infinite potential to grow and succeed.
